SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 7, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A pickup truck and trailer overturned Saturday morning on westbound Interstate 80 at about 5600 West.
It happened shortly before 8 a.m.
“One passenger in the truck suffered some moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital,” Sgt. Mike Alexander, Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily.
The exact cause of the incident has not been confirmed, Alexander said, but noted there was heavy fog in the area, which could have been a factor.
“I’m not saying it happened in this particular crash, but a lot of times when that heavy fog rolls in, it does kind of ice over the roadway a little bit.”
Alexander urged drivers to use extra caution when conditions may be dangerous.
