EMERY COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 32-year-old man was flown by helicopter to an area hospital Monday hours after he rolled his truck off State Route 6 in Emery County.
A news release from the Utah Highway Patrol said the man was driving a 2009 Nissan Titan pickup truck eastbound SR-6 at mile marker 205.
“For an unknown reason, the vehicle rolled off the right side of the roadway and down an embankment approximately 75 yards,” the news release said.
“It is unknown how long the driver had been crashed before he was found by a passerby. The engine and the subject were cold to the touch when emergency responders arrived.”
The driver had serious injuries, but not life-threatening, officials said. A helicopter was dispatched to transport him to the hospital.
“After speaking with his family and factoring his drive time to the area, it is estimated he was on scene almost two hours before being found,” the news release said.
The driver’s condition was upgraded upon arrival at the hospital; he has broken bones and sustained a concussion.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, officials said.
