PAYSON, UTAH – October 27, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Payson Police Department has located the family of a boy found wandering alone Tuesday morning.

According to Lt. Bill Wright, Payson City Police, the boy, who was under the care of his grandmother, was found near the Mountain View Apartments at 1000 East and 300 North around 10:15 a.m. “He was only wearing a very large purple T-shirt and a diaper,” said Lt. Wright. “He had no shoes, no socks and no pants.”

Because the boy did not speak it made it difficult for officers to locate the family. “We went to the apartments and actually knocked on the door of the grandmother’s apartment, who told police the children she was caring for were all accounted for,” said Lt. Wright. “It wasn’t until the mother got off work later Tuesday that someone told her they saw her son on the news and she contacted our department.”

The boy will remain in the care of the Department of Child and Family Services until the investigation is complete.
