PAYSON, Utah, Dec. 7, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — A community is mourning the loss of a teen killed in Payson after being hit while walking to school Monday morning, on his 14th birthday.

According to Payson Police Chief Brad Bishop, Adam Renik was struck by two cars as he crossed the street in the area of 600 West Utah Ave.

Emergency crews pronounced the boy deceased at the scene.

Details of the accident have not yet been released, but investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.

In a post by a neighbor, Steven Keele, Adam Renik was a teen with a “pure soul with a huge heart and loving testimony of Jesus Christ.”
