PROVO, Utah, Nov. 7, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a FrontRunner train in Provo Monday morning.

Provo Police Department posted on Facebook the woman, whose age and identity have not been released, was struck by the train at 700 W. 600 South.

The post said the woman was crossing the road northbound on 700 West and was killed on impact as a train passed through that location. Police have closed 700 West to all traffic at 600 South and the road will be closed until approximately 2 p.m.

Utah Transit Authority said a bus bridge has been set up between Provo and Orem due to the incident.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.

Provo Police Department initially said the victim was a man, but later amended that information. “This is a complicated scene and we have now determined the victim to be an adult female,” said a Facebook post from the department.
