Salt Lake Police searching for suspect who sprayed victim with pepper spray, stole purse

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 8, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake Police are searching for a suspect who sprayed a woman with pepper spray and stole her purse downtown on Tuesday night.

The Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release that the incident happened just before 11 p.m. at 465 S. 400 East.

The woman was walking on the sidewalk when the suspect sprayed her with pepper spray, then ran off with her purse. The victim was assessed by medical and released. The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his 20s, 5 feet 2 inches tall and thin build, wearing a black jacket with green on it and blue jeans.
