EMERY COUNTY, UTAH – July 18, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — Two Arizona men defied the odds Saturday afternoon, walking away uninjured from a small plane crash in Utah’s San Rafael Desert.

According to the Emery County Sheriff’s Office, the men were taking off from the Hidden Splendor Air Strip around 1:30 p.m. when their Cessna 182 aircraft was caught in a violent crosswind. The plane was lifted off the airstrip and clipped one of its wings before coming to a rest on the side a steep cliff.

The two men aboard the aircraft, ages 55 and 60, were uninjured. The Scottsdale men were on a trip visiting famous remote airstrips in the Rocky Mountain West.
