LOGAN, Utah, Aug. 2, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The playground areas in Logan’s Hyrum Gibbons Mount Logan Park are closed after numerous possible rattlesnake sightings.

“Sssssssssoooo, we’ve been made aware that there are some unwanted slithery guests in the Gibbons Park,” said a Facebook post from Logan Police Department. “We’ve had some calls on rattlesnakes that have been spotted near the playground equipment. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CATCH THEM. We’re working with Parks and Recreation to get signs posted.”

The post said snake repellent has been placed in the area, and officials are monitoring the situation. It’s not clear at this stage when the playground areas will be reopened, the post said.

If you see a snake, please call it in to Logan dispatch for animal control to respond, at 435-753-7555.
