WEST JORDAN, Utah, July 27, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Two suspects, a man and a juvenile, were taken into custody early Tuesday after a gun was stolen from Xtreme Pawn, in West Jordan.

The store is located in a strip mall at about 7100 S. Redwood Road. West Jordan Police officers were called to the scene at 2:54 a.m., and additional agencies responded to help set up containment, said Sgt. Scott Ellison, WJPD.

The two suspects left the pawn shop with one gun, Elison said. One suspect was taken into custody shortly later. It took longer to find the second, who had escaped into the neighborhood, Elison said.

Neither suspect was armed at the time of apprehension, the sergeant said. The stolen gun was later located.

Elison was unsure if it was the juvenile or adult suspect who was apprehended first, he said.

The name of the adult has not yet been released, Elison said Tuesday afternoon, because the suspect had not yet been booked into jail. Names of juvenile suspects typically are not released due to their age.
