Police: Armed man robs Roy convenience store

ROY, Utah, Feb. 26, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Roy responded to a convenience store robbery early on Tuesday.

Sgt. Matthew Gwynn, Roy Police Department, confirmed to Gephardt Daily that the Maverick at 2815 W. 4000 South, just off Midland Road, was robbed. The call came in to dispatch at about 12:34 a.m. Tuesday.

“At this time, the only details we know or can disclose is that the suspect did brandish a hand gun,” Gwynn told Gephardt Daily. “The suspect appears to be male and was wearing some type of mask.

“An undisclosed amount of cash and the clerk’s cellphone were taken. Nobody was physically harmed and as of right now it is too early tell if this case is related to any others in the area.”
