TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, March 5, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have arrested one of the two men suspected of a brutal attack of a 19-year-old woman in Taylorsville.
Unified Police confirmed Saturday night at that they had arrested 34-year-old Jeffrey Hansen. Police say he was wanted in connection with the March 1 assault of the woman, who collapsed after knocking on a neighbor’s door for help.

Sheriff Jim Winder said the incident started approximately 3 p.m. at 4428 S. Jarrah St., Taylorsville. When officers responded to the call from the neighbor, they found the woman had suffered multiple stab wounds.
She was transported to the hospital where she underwent surgery for her injuries. Her condition since has been upgraded to serious, and she continues to improve.
Detectives later discovered the victim and the suspects, Eliesa Tupo Olive, 32, and Hanson, knew each other.
“We believe this very disturbing case occurred over accusations that the victim had taken some property,” said Det. E. Chuck Malm, of the Unified Police Department.
“The victim was held against her will. She was bound, assaulted and stabbed. We believe this incident may have occurred for several hours before the victim was able to escape and get help.”
Police are still searching for Olive. He is described as a Polynesian male, 5-feet 9-inches tall, and approximately 145 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
Olive is considered armed and dangerous, and police urge anyone who sees him to call 911 and not approach the suspect.
