Police Arrest Suspect for Aggravated Assault in Liquor Store Parking Lot
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – July 15, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Salt Lake City Police Department said an employee at the liquor store at 205 W. 400 South noticed the suspect, Darrell Anderson, kicking another male in the store parking lot, yesterday at 7:39 p.m. Officals said the employee exited the store and told Anderson, 49, to stop or he would summon the officer working inside. Anderson pulled a knife out of his pocket and pointed it at the employee.
The off duty AP&P Officer came out of the store and told Anderson to stop. Anderson walked across the street and continued to ignore commands to stop. SLCPD Officers were sent to the store on a report of an officer fighting with a man armed with a knife. Officers arrived and when they went to take Anderson into custody he resisted and had to be taken to the ground. Anderson was booked for aggravated assault, resisting and non-compliant sex offender.
