SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 21, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are asking for help identifying those involved in a hit-and-run crash in Salt Lake City last week that left a 41-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency dispatchers received a call about 1:30 a.m. June 14 regarding an injured person in a parking lot at 1472 S. State St., Salt Lake City police said.

Officers were nearby on an unrelated call and found the woman with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took the woman to a hospital, where she remains in stable condition, police said.

During the investigation, police learned that the driver of a light-colored Ford Explorer pulled into the parking lot and ran over the woman about 12:45 a.m.

Police said they believe the woman was already on the ground prior to the crash but was not previously injured.

Two people got out of the Explorer and checked on the woman, but then got back into the SUV and left the scene, police said.

The SUV is described as possibly being a newer model, light-colored Ford Explorer with a panoramic sunroof, and chrome/silver wheels. Police released photos of the SUV.

Anyone with information about the SUV, crash or people involved is asked to call 801-799-3000 and reference case 24-130079.
