VERNAL, Utah, Feb. 3, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Blanding woman was arrested after she wielded an ax and destroying property in a Vernal subdivision, officials said.

On Saturday, Uintah County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to the area of 1220 S. 500 East where it was reported Natasha Billsie, 32, was waving an ax in the air and using it to damage other people’s property.

A news release from UCSD said: “When law enforcement arrived, they came in contact with the woman walking down the road, dragging the ax. An officer from Naples Police and a Uintah County deputy were able to get Billsie to drop the ax.

“Billsie appeared to be under the influence of an unknown intoxicant and resisted officers when they attempted to take her into custody.

“Witnesses reported seeing Billsie smash the back window out of a vehicle. Another individual reported that the interior and exterior of his shed had been damaged behind his home, and his ax was missing. Many of Billsie’s personal effects were found near the damaged shed.”

Billsie was transported to jail, where she was booked for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, false personal information, resisting arrest, burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
