SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 29, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A bomb squad was called to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ mail building in Salt Lake City Thursday morning after a package showed electronic components.

Detective Greg Wilking from the Salt Lake City Police Department said officials were called to the building at 48 S. 400 East at approximately 10:25 a.m.

Wilking said that because of the nature of the device, it would be “disrupted” by the bomb squad, rendering the scene safe from any further danger.

He added that it appeared the building did not need to be evacuated, but that it was ensured that no one was in danger.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
