Police: DUI suspect hits road construction worker in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Aug. 26, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A construction worker is in stable condition after being hit by a DUI driver in the early hours of Sunday morning in West Valley City.

Sgt. Shawn Bais from West Valley City Police Department told Gephardt Daily the crash happened in the area of 3600 S. Redwood Road at approximately 2:15 a.m.

Bais said the driver, Richard Pressley, 50, was traveling northbound on Redwood Road when he veered into a construction zone where workers were repaving the road.

Pressley hit a construction worker, who was transported to Intermountain Medical Center.

Bais said Pressley was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on a felony DUI charge.
