Police hope to ID suspect in theft of credit cards, medical supplies from car in Cottonwood Canyon

COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah, Jan. 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police officials are asking the public to help identify a suspect believed to have stolen credit cards and vital medical supplies from a car parked at the White Pines trailhead on Wednesday.

The car’s owner and his family left the car to hike for about 15 minutes, according to information from the Unified Police Department. When family members returned at about 3:30 p.m., they discovered someone had broken into the car and taken the wife’s purse, credit cards, and the son’s medical supplies, which he needs to have nearby at all times.

The medical supplies were valued at $8,000. The suspect also used the credit cards at three stores, and charged about $2,500 worth of gift cards and one drink.
