WEST JORDAN, Utah, Sept. 13, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — West Jordan police have revealed the names of the 20-year-old man shot to death in a West Jordan restaurant early Thursday morning, and the suspects police plan to charge in the case.

● The man killed was Noe Armijo-Luna, of Midvale.

● The suspected shooter is Jonathan Hunt, 18 of Murray, and his suspected accomplice is Jayden Olsen, 22, also from Murray.

“The West Jordan Police Department has located and arrested three suspects believed to be involved in a homicide that occurred early this morning at (Rancherito’s Restaurant, at) 7849 S. Redwood Road,” a West Jordan Police statement says.

“Investigators determined that Jayden Olsen has had an ongoing dispute with shooting victim Noe Armijo-Luna,” the statement says. “Jayden was able locate Noe Armijo-Luna while he was eating dinner at 7849 South Redwood Road. Jayden accompanied Jonathan Hunt, went to this location, and confronted Noe Armijo-Luna, at which time Jonathan Hunt produced a handgun and shot the victim.”

Witnesses told police the shooting took place while two men were standing at the counter ordering food. They said two other men walked into the restaurant and became involved in a “verbal altercation” with the men at the counter. One of the men who walked in pulled out a pistol and shot the victim multiple times.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS personnel where he died of his injuries,” the police statement says.

Besides Hunt and Olsen, WJPO Lt. Richard Bell confirmed to Gephardt Daily than a 17-year-old girl was booked for obstruction of justice, and taken to a juvenile detention center. Bell also said Hunt is a known gang member.

Hunt and Olsen will be booked into jail on homicide and related charges, the statement says.

“The West Jordan Police Department is very appreciative of the assistance received from the Salt Lake Area Gang Project Metro Gang Unit for the help in identifying and locating
these suspects.”
