OGDEN, Utah, Oct. 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified the 80-year-old man who was fatally injured when he lost control of his vehicle while it was stopped in a driveway shortly before 6 p.m. Monday.

The driver, Raymond McIntosh, of Ogden, was seated in the car in the driveway of a home in the 1400 block of 12th Street, according to a news release from Ogden City Police Department.

McIntosh’s sister, Annie Burr, 84, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was standing near the open driver’s door, leaning toward the vehicle’s interior, the news release states.

It isn’t yet known why the vehicle, a 2006 Buick LaCrosse, abruptly moved in reverse.

The vehicle traveled backwards in an arc out into the street and back into the front yard where it struck a tree before coming to a stop. Both individuals sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. They were treated on scene and transported to McKay Dee Hospital,” the release says.

McIntosh later died of his injuries. His sister is improving and is expected to recover.

The incident is still under investigation.
