LEHI, Utah, Nov. 3, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are investigating after a shot was fired during an altercation between juveniles at the Lehi McDonald’s at about midnight Saturday.

Lehi City spokesman Cameron Boyle told Gephardt Daily there was a physical altercation outside the fast food chain at 48 S. 850 East, which led to a single shot being fired.

That shot grazed the head of a juvenile, who was transported to an area hospital with non-critical injuries, Boyle said.

The other juveniles involved were detained; three were transported to the Slate Canyon Youth Center, a detention center in Provo. Others were released to their parents.

Boyle said that at least one juvenile will be facing a gang enhancement charge, but at this time officials do not think the incident was gang related. That charge is often applied if the altercation involved a large group of people, Boyle said.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
