MAGNA, Utah, May 31, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Authorities announced Wednesday that autopsy results have convinced them to reclassify the suspicious death of a Magna woman as a homicide.

Natalia Casagrande, 24, was found dead at about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of her home, near 7700 W. and Jefferson Road, according to Lt. Lex Bell, Unified Police Department.

Paramedics and first responders found Casagrande with multiple injuries, Bell revealed Wednesday. He would not release additional details.

On Tuesday night, police sought a search warrant, and processed the residence as a crime scene.

Casagrande’s husband told detectives he was at another location, and his wife had been texting him, then suddenly stopped. She was at home alone with their two daughters, ages 1 and 5.

Neighbors reported seeing an unfamiliar white car at the residence.

Gephardt Daily will provide new information as it becomes available.
