WEST JORDAN, UTAH – August 26, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Police are searching for two suspects who left a suspicious box in front of Oquirrh Hills Elementary Wednesday.

Granite School District put the school on soft lockdown at around 2 p.m.

School District spokesman Ben Horsley said a pair of suspicious looking males left the box at the front doors of the school, at 5241 S. 4280 West. Granite Police Department, Unified Police Department and fire departments responded, law enforcement was able to use a robot to view inside the box and the contents were found to be non-suspicious.

The lockdown was lifted at around 3:25 p.m. and school was let out as normal.

Horsley said police are looking for two suspects who looked to be in their teens or early 20’s, wearing hoodies. He said they looked out of place which is why school personnel were alerted, and they quickly left the area after placing the box. Anyone with information should call 801.481.7122.
