Police: Man stabs victim in face in Salt Lake after being refused cigarette

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect was booked into jail for aggravated assault after police say he threw a metal object at a man then stabbed him in the face after he was refused a cigarette.

The suspect has been identified by the Salt Lake City Police Department as Lucas Robert Burden, 35.

The incident occurred in the area of 922 E. 2100 South, near Smith’s, just before 6:25 a.m. Saturday, the news release said.

“The victim was smoking near a business at this location when Burden requested a cigarette from the victim and the victim told Burden no,” the news release goes on.

“Burden got upset with the victim and threw a metal object at the victim. Burden walked away, then walked back toward the victim and stabbed him in the face giving him a minor laceration to his lip.”

The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Burden was booked into jail.
