West Jordan Police were called to a domestic situation at 9029 S. Ripple Drive (4475 West) at around 4 p.m. Chief of Police Doug Diamond said the man’s family were initially inside the house but were safely evacuated. The home was a duplex and police evacuated those residents and a couple of other houses for safety’s sake. “He didn’t want to negotiate, didn’t want to talk to us, and at one point threw his phone out of the house so we couldn’t talk to him on the phone any more,” said Diamond. “Then he would come out and talk to us, and we were able to get some officers in a position that when he came out we could take him into custody.”

A taser was used to take the man into the custody.

We will have more details on this developing story as they become available.
