OGDEN, Utah, July 20, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Ogden police responded to an SUV vs. motorcycle accident Saturday night at the intersection of North Street and Washington Boulevard.

Lt. Tyler Ziegler told Gephardt Daily that a 2005 Subaru Forester was southbound on Washington and made a left turn onto North Street in front of a red Yamaha R6 motorcycle that was heading north.

The motorcyclist had to lay the bike down, Ziegler said.

A 21-year-old woman who also was on the motorcycle complained of back pain and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. No information was available regarding her condition.

The male motorcyclist left the scene with a family member in a private vehicle.

Ziegler said the driver of the Subaru was cited for failure to yield.

  1. Glad no one was seriously hurt but hey Lt. Ziegler there’s no legitimate reason to “lay a bike down”. This is an urban myth that anyone attending an MSF rider class is taught is False. Any motorcycle stops more quickly with both tires on the pavement and full braking applied, short of lockup.
