OREM, Utah, May 2, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — An Orem man was booked into jail Wednesday after police say he called dispatch to report he had just sexually abuse a child.

Steven Martineau, 33, was booked on suspicion of four counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child by a person in a position of trust, a first-degree felony.

“Steven Martineau called Orem dispatch and stated he had just sexually abused” a 7-year-old girl, says a probable cause statement filed in the case.

Officers arrived at the suspect’s residence to talk to him, and he admitted entering a room where the child had been sleeping, and “touching her buttocks and genitalia,” the statement says. “Steven also admitted to previously touching the same (victim) in the same manner when she was 5 years of age.”

Martineau also admitted to touching a toddler boy’s genitalia, the statement says.

“Steven acted with the intent to arouse or gratify his sexual desire.”

Martineau’s bail was set at $20,000.
