PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Feb. 7, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Pleasant Grove police are searching for a suspect after a woman reported she was held at gunpoint in her home Wednesday night.

Officials received a call for help at a residence near the Murdock Canal and Center Street, said a news release on Facebook from the Pleasant Grove Police Department.

“A very upset female reported that she was being held at gunpoint in her home,” the news release said. “Officers responded and were able to get the residents out safely, but unfortunately the suspect escaped our perimeter. He has been identified and is no longer believed to be in the area, or the city of Pleasant Grove.”

The victim was not injured, the news release said.

“Residents in the surrounding area were notified at the time of the incident and asked to stay inside their homes,” the news release said. “The area is believed to be safe at this time, and there is no further known risk. We are continuing our investigation and hunt for the suspect.”

Officials have not yet identified the suspect or provided a description of him, but have said they may release more information later Thursday. It’s not clear at this early stage if the suspect was known to the victim.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
