Police: Salt Lake City victims robbed by acquaintance, armed stranger

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 18, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are asking for the public to share information after two apartment residents in Salt Lake City were robbed by a male acquaintance and an armed stranger.

According to information from the Salt Lake City Police Department, the victims were in their apartment, in the area of 50 North and 600 West, early Sunday morning with a man they knew.

He left, and returned a short time later, at about 12:51 a.m., with a man unknown to the apartment residents.

“The unknown male produced a rifle and robbed the two,” a statement from the SLCPD said. “The suspect and the known acquaintance took several thousand dollars in property from the residence.

“The two left in a dark blue Suzuki sedan with a “U of U” sticker in the back window and U of U tape in the back window.”

Police are asking anyone with information about this crime or others to call them at 801-799-3000.
