Police say more than 1.1K cars stolen in Salt Lake City this year

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 13, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake police said Wednesday that 1,133 cars have been stolen in Salt Lake City this year and nearly a quarter of those had keys left in them.

A tweet from SLCPD said 264 of those cars had keys inside them and 86 were left running.

“Secure your keys away from your vehicles and don’t leave your car running or unattended,” the tweet said. “Help us reduce auto theft!”
