SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for at least one suspect after shots were fired between cars in Salt Lake City. Soon after, a man went to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The incident happened in the area of 855 S. Pueblo St. at approximately 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

“Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles pull up alongside each other,” the news release said. “They heard gunshots and saw both vehicles drive away. Officers were able to find shell casings in the roadway. The vehicles were described only as a black SUV and a silver SUV.”

Officers were later contacted by a local hospital and advised that a man had just arrived with a gunshot wound to his leg. SLCPD Detective Robert Ungricht said the man, who was driven to the hospital by a family member, talked to police, but the investigation is ongoing and no one has been arrested at this time. Ungricht said the man’s injuries were not life threatening. He also added the incident was possibly gang-related.
