Police searching for suspect after alleged aggravated assault in SLC

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 3, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City Police officials are searching for a suspect following an alleged aggravated assault Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred in a parking lot in the area of 657 S. 400 East just before 6 p.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

“The victim and the suspect were in the same parking lot when a verbal altercation took place,” the news release said. “The suspect then produced a gun, pointed it at the victim and pulled the trigger, however the gun did not fire.”

The suspect then fled the scene on foot and was not located. The suspect is described asĀ  black, 25-30 years old with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap with a red rose on it, a black jacket and blue jeans, and was carrying a black bag.
