Police searching for suspect after stabbing in downtown Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 13, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials are searching for a suspect after an altercation in downtown Salt Lake City led to a stabbing in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident began inside The Rest bar at 331 S. Main St. at approximately 12:25 a.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

“A man was at a bar and started hitting on another man’s wife,” the news release said. “The husband became confrontational in the bar and was kicked out.”

The other man involved in the confrontation was also kicked out of the bar.

When the husband exited the bar, he was confronted by the other man who stabbed him in the abdomen, the news release said. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was not located. He is described as an adult Hispanic male with short facial hair and a beanie.
