SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 11, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are seeking a robber who pulled a handgun on a female clerk and made her remove cash and other items from a safe in a cellphone store.

Salt Lake Police Sgt. Robin Heiden said a white male walked into the Cricket Wireless store at 845 W. North Temple just before 7 p.m. Friday and asked to purchase a phone.

“The clerk went back and opened up the safe for the male that was going to purchase it, and he followed her back there,” Heiden said. “He produced a handgun and demanded all the money and some contents from the safe, and he left the area.”

There was no vehicle description, and it is thought the suspect left on foot. Heiden said the suspect is described as around 30, with facial hair on his chin, and wearing a black hoodie and a beanie.

Heiden said nobody was hurt in the robbery, but the female clerk was very upset.
