SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Aug. 31, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have found a stolen bullet bike that struck a 49-year-old man who remains in very critical condition after being hit while walking across a street, South Salt Lake Police officials say.
The man, whose name has not been released, was walking north at the intersection of 3300 South and 900 West just before midnight Tuesday, according to SSLPD information.
The victim was struck by a westbound bullet bike that was later identified as stolen. The rider fled the scene, and a passerby called for help.
The Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the motorcyclist who fled the scene.
At the time of the crash, the suspect driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a
helmet. He is described as a white male in his mid-20s, with short, blond hair, wearing prescription-type glasses, and dressed in dark jeans, a blue long-sleeve T-shirt, and black Jordan shoes, according to an SSLPD statement.
The suspect is likely to have sustained injuries and road rash from the road surface after hitting the victim, SSLPD information says. Anyone with information is asked to call South Salt Lake police at 801-840-4000.
