Police seek robbery suspect after 2 Salt Lake City Red Hangers hit in 24 hours

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 26, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for at least one suspect after two Red Hanger dry cleaners were robbed in the course of 24 hours over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The first robbery occurred at the Red Hanger at 955 W. North Temple St. just before 6:40 p.m. Friday, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

A suspect entered the Red Hanger, grabbed an employee by his shirt and put a weapon to his throat, the news release said.

“The suspect demanded all the money from the till,” the news release said. “After he was given the money he fled the scene.”

The suspect in this incident is described as an older man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, bald, wearing an old man mask, dark clothing and a collared shirt.

The second robbery occurred Saturday just after 5:40 p.m. at the dry cleaner at 2180 S. 700 East.

“A suspect entered the Red Hanger with a weapon and demanded cash from the till,” the news release said. “The suspect left the area with an undisclosed amount of cash.”

The suspect in this case is described as a man wearing a cover over his face, a gray hoodie and jeans.
