WEST JORDAN, Utah, Oct. 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect after a reported aggravated home invasion in West Jordan on Thursday afternoon.

West Jordan Police Department Sgt. Burdette Shumway told Gephardt Daily that officials were called to the incident in the area of 4880 W. 6960 South at approximately 3 p.m.

Shumway said two suspects entered the residence, searching for a particular resident. It’s not clear at this time exactly how they gained entry to the home. One was armed and one was not, he added.

There was a person in the residence, but it wasn’t the person they were looking for, Shumway said.

That person was able to call police and by the time officials arrived on the scene, the armed suspect had fled and the suspect that was not armed was still at the scene.

That individual was taken into custody and is being interviewed by detectives, Shumway said.

The only description officials have of the outstanding suspect is that he is Hispanic and fled in a black SUV.

Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to call WJPD on 801-256-2000.
