ST. GEORGE, Utah, May 2, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a knife-wielding thief in a St. George jewelry grab-n-dash that netted him more than $40,000 worth of hot rocks.

The suspect was captured on store surveillance cameras, with seven photos released by the St. George Police Department Thursday night, including a 19-second video of the suspect eluding an attempted tackle.

“On April 29, 2024, a male enters the business at approximately 5:35 p.m.,” the department said of the robbery at Jonny Roxx. “He grabs $40,000 in jewelry and runs out of the business.”

The suspect threatened a store employee with a knife as he fled, police said. He has a large scar on the left side of his head, and he may be driving a newer model, white Kia car, which he drove from the crime scene.
