Police seek suspect that stole woman’s purse, keys, car in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly stole a woman’s keys, purse and car in Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release the incident began inside Christina’s Barber Shop at 1503 S. 300 West Friday just before 3:15 p.m.

“The suspect entered the barber shop business at this location brandishing a weapon, demanded the victim’s car keys and purse,” the news release said. “The victim fled the business and the suspect followed until the victim encountered other people on the street.”

The suspect then returned to the business, took the victim’s vehicle, and fled the area.

A short time later the vehicle was located by Utah Highway Patrol unoccupied at a nearby business.

The suspect and the victim were not known to each other, officials said.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his mid 40s, approximately 6 feet tall, medium build and wearing a dark colored shirt or jacket.
