Police seek suspect who used hatchet, knife to rob Salt Lake Taco Bell

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 23, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police officers are looking for the male who robbed a Taco Bell on Sunday night while threatening the clerk with a hatchet and a knife.

UPD Lt. Bill Robertson said the suspect entered the restaurant at 3197 W. 5400 South at 10 p.m. and used the weapons to threaten the clerk while demanding money. The suspect then fled on foot, heading south.

Police set up a containment area, but the suspect wasn’t found.

Robertson said the suspect is a white male. He had a bandana over his face and was wearing jeans and a puffy jacket with a gray hoodie over it.

Detectives are investigating this armed robbery and will be reviewing surveillance video of the suspect.
