SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – July 23, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Two men went into the 7-Eleven at 414 E. 200 South and selected several items from the store just after 9 p.m. yesterday.

They then departed the store without paying for the items. One of the store clerks chased them down to the parking lot and a struggle ensued. At some point during the struggle a good Samaritan came to the clerk’s aid. As the struggle continued one of the suspects brandished a knife and managed to get away while the other suspect was detained for officers.

Officers were able to capture the suspect with the knife a short distance away and he was identified as Forrest Matthews Hall, 23. Hall was booked into jail for aggravated robbery, and several outstanding warrants. The second suspect Michael Thomas Piper, 25, was booked into jail for aggravated robbery.
