Police Seek Suspects After Phones Are Grabbed From Victims

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – September 24, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Police are seeking suspects after two robberies occurred with in hour of each other in Salt Lake City Wednesday night.

Police said the first robbery happened in the area of 6th Avenue and H Street at 9:19 p.m. A 24-year-old female had been jogging near her home when she was attacked from behind by a white male. The victim had been listening to music on her headphones when the suspect grabbed her. The suspect held the victim from behind in a choke hold and forcibly took her phone. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene on a black BMX bike; westbound to G street and then southbound. The suspect was described as a white male adult, 6 feet tall, thin build, mid 20’s, with scruffy chin hair, wearing a black baseball cap backwards and all black clothing.

The second robbery happened at 1200 West and 700 North at 10:30 p.m. A 16-year-old male juvenile victim reported that while he was walking he was confronted by a man with a hand gun. The suspect demanded the victim give up his phone. The juvenile surrendered his phone and the suspect left westbound on foot. He is described as a white adult, 20’s, 5′ 10″ tall, medium build, light skin, with slicked back hair, wearing a white shirt with blue or black Dickies brand pants.
