WEST JORDAN, Utah, Aug. 1, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in West Jordan are searching for a suspect who they say used pepper spray on a clerk during an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

West Jordan Police Department officials said the incident occurred at theĀ 7-Eleven at 6990 S. Redwood Road at approximately 3 a.m.

Officials said a man in his 20s wearing dark clothing and a bandanna entered the store while the clerk was cleaning.

The suspect, who allegedly was carrying a large knife and a can of pepper spray, demanded money.

Officials then said the suspect deployed the pepper spray and fled with an unknown amount of cash.

The clerk was treated at the scene and did not need to be transported to the hospital.

The store was the same at which a man drank gasoline and set himself on fire last Thursday.

Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to contact the West Jordan Police Department on 801-256-2000.
