WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, March 27, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — West Valley City police have arrested a 70-year-old man who allegedly abused at least seven children, whose ages ranged from 4 to 12 years old, over a period of 14 years.

Police served a warrant for the arrest of David Allen Williams at his West Valley City home at approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday, WVCPD said in a news release.

Williams was arrested on two counts of first-degree felony object rape of a child and 23 counts of second-degree felony sexual abuse of a child. The time frame during which the abuse of these seven victims occurred was 1983 through 1997.

“The West Valley City Police Department received a report in October of 2018 regarding the sexual abuse of one of the victims,” the news release said. “Through further investigation, West Valley City Police identified and interviewed six more victims. Some of the victims involved in this case are related to Mr. Williams, others were neighbors to the Williams family, who lived in a different home in West Valley City at the time of the abuse.”

Due to the nature of the crimes, it is possible that there may be others who were sexually abused by Williams, officials said. West Valley City Police investigators would like to encourage any person who may have been sexually abused by Williams to contact officials at 801-840-4000.
