SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 20, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Post Malone, Utah’s foremost adopted “favorite son” has kind words Saturday for Taylor Swift after being featured on her new smash-hit album and the accompanying music video.
Postie posted the comments on social media, praising the fellow singer/songwriter/media mogul for including him on the recent project.
“It’s once in a lifetime that someone like @taylorswift comes into this world,” Malone said. “I am floored by your heart and your mind, and I am beyond honored to have been asked to help you with your journey. I love you so much. Thank you Tay”
Swift released her 11th album The Tortured Poets Department at midnight Friday, including the single Fortnight, which she recorded with Malone. She then shocked fans hours later with the surprise drop of The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, featuring 15 additional songs.
By 6 p.m. Friday, just 18 hours after its release, Spotify announced TTPD was the first album in its history to generate 300 million streams in a single day.
Swift wrote about her collaboration with Malone on Friday, praising the musician, who makes his home in Utah much of the year.
“When I was writing the Fortnight music video, I wanted to show you the worlds I saw in my head that served as the backdrop for making this music,” Taylor said. “Pretty much everything in it is a metaphor or a reference to one corner of the album or another. For me, this video turned out to be the perfect visual representation of this record and the stories I tell in it. Post Malone blew me away on set as our tortured tragic hero and I’m so grateful to him for everything he put into this collaboration.”
The Tortured Poets Department is the first album with all new music since Midnights (2022).
