Five-Year-Old Struck, Killed Outside Lehi Head Start Identified

LEHI, Utah, Dec. 10, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — A 5-year-old girl was hit and killed Thursday afternoon as she left Mountainland Head Start in Lehi has been identified as Stella Ferrazzano of American Fork.

Stella was leaving Mountainland Head Start, 176 S. 500 West, when she darted ahead of her mother and sister in the parking lot, and ran into a roundabout by the school.

She was struck by a pickup, which was driven by a 45-year-old woman picking up a kindergartener at Meadow Elementary, which is in the same building. Police estimate the driver was traveling at about 10 miles per hour, according to a spokesman for the Lehi Police Department.

Stella was taken to Mountain Point Medical Center, where she died of her injuries.
