PROVO, Utah, June 5, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — When Provo Fire & Rescue workers from station 23 responded to a brush fire in an open area, they weren’t necessarily expecting to find a victim, let alone one so minuscule it could easily have gone unnoticed.
“They didn’t expect to find a kitten as close to the action as it was,” a Facebook post from the agency says.
“The kitty was immediately rinsed with water (because it was smoking) then assessed for burns and injuries.
“None found, but it might get a name (Smoke? Smokey? How about Lucky?) … and maybe a new home,” the post says.
The teeny tabby lucked out, and with lives to spare, if cat legends are true.
“Great save Firefighter Austin Svenson,” says the PF&R post, which is by congratulatory comments by followers.
