PROVO, Utah, Sept. 7, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Provo police K-9 Mira has retired after eight years of service.

A Facebook post from Provo PD Tuesday said: “Congratulations to Mira on retirement! Mira, one of the finest bomb dogs, completed an eight-year tour of duty for the Provo Police Department. She conducted hundreds of bomb sweeps for marathons, parades, concerts, and sporting events.”

She responded to numerous schools when they had bomb threats, the post said, and went on several unattended package calls.

“She helped a hospital quickly open back up its emergency room after a bomb threat,” the post added.” She even found a stolen block of C4. Mira responded all over the state of Utah. Mira will be living with Officer Lewis as a pet. She is going to have fun camping and eating unhealthy! Great job and happy retirement, Mira!”

C4 is a plastic explosive, officials said.
