TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, July 1, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Redwood Road is closed in both directions in Taylorsville after a fatal crash Friday afternoon.

West Jordan Police and Fire and South Salt Lake Police responded at about 2 p.m. to the area of 6670 S. Redwood Road (1700 West).

West Jordan Police officer Scott List said witnesses stated that a white truck and a green passenger car were going northbound on Redwood Road, and at some point the passenger car was ahead of the white truck in the far right lane, went to make a U-turn, and when it was halfway through the turn it was T-boned by the white pickup truck.

The driver of the green car, a 31-year-old female from Millcreek, was killed in the crash. The driver of the white pickup truck, also a 31-year-old female, was taken to Intermountain Medical Center, Murray, in stable condition.

Speed is being investigated as one of the factors that may have contributed to the crash.

List said that Redwood Road is closed in both directions from 6200 South to 7200 South, and drivers are being advised to take alternative routes. It will be shut down until at least 6 p.m.
