SEVIER COUNTY, UTAH – November 2, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A Richfield man died in a rollover accident on Monroe Mountain Road in Sevier County Saturday night.

According to Sevier County Sheriff Nathan J. Curtis, dispatchers received calls around 6:30 p.m. of a truck that had rolled off the road after the driver failed to negotiate a switchback turn.

When deputies, emergency medical personnel, and Search and Rescue arrived, they discovered the driver, 48-year-old Phillip McGee, had been ejected. They were able to find him approximately 300 feet from the edge of the road.

Rescuers attempted to resuscitate McGee but were unsuccessful and he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Deputies said speed and failure to make the turn are the only known causes of the accident.
