RICHFIELD, Utah, Feb. 21, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Richfield police are warning of a phone scam.

“We have received complaints from a few people that have gotten phone calls from someone pretending to be the Richfield City Police Department,” said a Facebook post. “The subject on the line states that he is an officer from the Richfield City Police Department and is asking for personal information. Do not give it out. It is a fake number and they are just trying to get your information.”

A real officer would not ask for personal information on the phone, the post said. The official Richfield police numbers are 435-896-8484, 435-896-8485, and 435-896-5307.

“If you feel you are being scammed, call our dispatch center at 435-896-6471 and ask for an officer to meet with you,” the post said.
